The second six weeks...

A bank holiday weekend really allows for reflection!

The Anchor

If I had to pick the thing in my portfolio that was the anchor for the second six weeks, it would be homework.

Defined here mainly as 'family' with a sub-theme of getting the house in order in the more proverbial sense. Much like for the first six weeks, as a known natural gap appeared, it becomes an opportunity to define what matters most and get organized for what is to come - you know, clear the old to make way for the new.

The Focus

Exploration (Travel and movement)

My exploration between India and Spain dominated this period. India was the main trip, complemented by two visits to Madrid. Initially unsure of my purpose in India, I ultimately reconnected with family and had enriching conversations that inspired future plans.

The Positive

  • I maintained a fitness routine, focusing on weights instead of swimming, and enjoyed limited but fantastic walks.

  • Reconnected with family and enjoyed a wonderful trip to Rishikesh.

  • Two trips to Madrid: the first was planned, and the second emerged from the first, emphasizing the importance of living in the moment.

The Perspective

  • I gained weight during this period, mainly due to my eating habits while traveling. However, I believe I can regain my progress in the next phase.

  • I'm grounded for April, ready to focus on other priorities while more travel awaits later in the year.

  • I managed to step back to gain clarity, recognizing that time, financial stability, and health are on my side— More on this in another post. Some have even called this my sabbatical.

The Next 6-Week Cycle (Phase 3)

Struggling to fit my next focus into six weeks, I discovered the book "The 12-Week Year," which will guide my approach. I will focus equally on finance and paid work over the next quarter, aiming to measure consistency and impact. Although I’m slightly behind on organizing my homework, I’m ahead for the next phase, and that’s perfectly fine!

How's your 2026 portfolio shaping up so far?

The first six weeks...

of 2026 are over...is this approach to the year working so far? I think, yeah! The Anchor If I had to pick the thing in my portfolio that was the anchor for the last six weeks, it would be paid work.
