The next six (or twelve) weeks

I write this as I come to the end of my second six-week cycle of 2026. The first two have been as successful as they can be.
Cycle one - health and fitness focus - anchored with a specific work contract
Cycle two - exploring/traveling - anchored with family and a focus on the home
While being aware of what the next cycle is to be the focus, I was struggling to visualize it in a 6-week block - it is too broad, and within it, things need to be broken down differently. Perhaps then, it was synchronicity when during a visit to a school recently for some facilitation work, I noticed a book called "The 12-Week Year" on the lead teacher's desk. I took a photo of it to bookmark for the future.

The very next day, I discovered it on the bookshelf at the airport, right next to a book I was going to purchase anyway! And the 'Buy one, get the second half price' offer just sealed the deal!
As someone who has been gifted two books and now acquired another two in less than two weeks, it seems a lot to read; however, as I've said many a time before, a book speaks to you at the right time.
I have already finished this book and have already started implementing it. Living a portfolio lifestyle can mean that you spread yourself too thin if you are not careful, so blocking the year out into chunks of key focus to develop a habit or develop something, I am finding, is key.
Recognizing also that different time blocks may be required for the variety of facets is also important. To close this experience, I am leaving the book in the location I am in to test my muscle memory and retention. A friend of mine will be visiting London before the 12-week period is up, and if they bring the book with them, it is an opportunity to reconnect with it and see how I am doing, along with determining if the next area needs 6 or 12 weeks.

synchronicity Indeed! 😊
