Diversifying the 'sitting' portfolio

Earlier this week, I heard myself say in a session and note down that 'sitting' was part of my portfolio. Something that I've been doing on and off for a decade by of mutual arrangement with close friends has become something that I am looking at through a different lens.
Where there have been pets involved previously, they have normally been light touch - cats, guinea pigs, fish etc....
My first dog sit was with a fairly easy and loving dog all said and done - owned by a friend of a friend.
There was something however about not knowing what to really expect about looking after a dog (yes, there's actually work involved) and also about being in an unfamiliar neighbourhood and of course residence. Luckily, said friend was also able to be with me for the majority of the stay.
Why am I now considering it part of my portfolio?
When it works (and thankfully, I've not had a bad experience to date) it offers mobility - a chance to be in a different neighbourhood and area for a bit, yet still treat the place like home.
Where pets are involved, it offers the chance to care for something else - as though they are your own.
If there's some pocket money attached to it, it offers the chance to work to a different kind of budget than you might in your own environment.
I sense that my friends set this up as an experiment for me -one small move that could open some more doors and movement in my portfolio in months to come. For that, I'm grateful.
