I confess. I stopped writing for a while. If I use this blog as a benchmark, it's been over a year.
Consistent walking and wondering also has been a lost a little, certainly the earlier part of 2022 and that I put down to my allowing the paid work of my portfolio to overtake a little too much for approximately the first 8 months of 2022. No regrets however, it has been a year where I can recognise the balance of elements in my portfolio is one that I can measure over a 12 month period rather than a given point in time.
The latter part of the year, particularly now, is where I've carved out rest and the creative space to reset, reflect and make decisions about 2023. With this comes starting to build walking and writing regularly back into the schedule. I recognise that this may slip from time to time and that's ok. However, a whole year of NOT writing, whether I publish or not is not cool.
I suspect a journal that I received as a Christmas gift this year will help me jot down some thoughts again and is already keeping me accountable in terms of tasks. Call it a public early resolution (or two), walking and writing will feature heavily in 2023.
Photos today are from Highgate Wood and Queens Wood in North London - a first for me although I've been a Londoner all my life.
