Dunbar's 5 Part 2

Did you complete Exercise 1? Surprised? Expected?

For me, I’m glad of the first 2 and being able to slow down and spend time with those at home.

Number 3 wasn’t that surprising - a life long friend who lives locally.

Number 4 a pleasant surprise - a new-ish friend whom I met through volunteering. We connected and I’m pleased to have spent a great deal of time when permitted walking and having decent conversations.

Number 5 was quite close, but when I sat down and thought about it - it turned out to be one of my newer 2020 portfolio additions. Interesting to see what I gravitated towards. Once again though, a friendship that feeds me perhaps gave it the edge.

So what of 2021? It’s hard for us to be able to forecast it in its entirety. So let’s start with Quarter 1 - January to March where it remains a definite that we will have restrictions for some or all of the period. 

• Who is in your 5 that you will be spending the most time with?
• Will you actually spend time with them?
• If your number is less than 5, who will make up the difference as soon as you are able?
• Finally, if you are shielding or isolating, who are the 5 you speak to most via voice calls?
